Membership Benefits and Prices

The People's Memorial Association is a non-sectarian, nonprofit organization that has enrolled over 175,000 members in Western and Central Washington. Members receive planning documents called Putting My House in Order, Dear Family Letter and Disposition Authorization to designate their end-of-life wishes regarding cremation, burial and related matters. At death, members are entitled to mortuary arrangements at member prices, provided by funeral homes contracting with People's Memorial Association. Discounts are also available at our contracted cemetery and monument company. To keep abreast of changes in the industry or the PMA mortuary contract, members receive an annual newsletter and an invitation to the annual membership meeting, held each April in Seattle. Members traveling outside of western or central Washington are entitled to reciprocal membership benefits through other affiliates of the Funeral Consumers Alliance.

Lifetime membership is $25.00 per person. PMA income is used to cover administrative costs and to provide educational information and services for current and prospective members and the public. A volunteer Board of Directors, elected by the membership at the annual meeting, governs the organization in accordance with PMA bylaws. Membership is required prior to death in order to take advantage of member benefits.
